Michael Dinkes
Michael Dinkes is a Certified Public Accountant (NY and CT) and Of Counsel to Guzov Ofsink, LLC. Michael is a noted tax authority. He has lectured on various tax areas, throughout the United States and abroad, for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the CW Post Tax Institute, as well as numerous professional and business organizations. Michael has authored articles that were published in the Practical Accountant, the American Bar Association Journal, the New York Law Journal and the Real Estate Tax Quarterly. He was the editor of the monthly tax "TIPS" column in the Tax Advisor. In addition, he authored a book on Partnership Taxation and developed and edited books on Estate and Gift Taxation and Estate Planning and developed and taught a graduate course on Estate and Gift Taxation.
Prior to joining Guzov Ofsink, LLC, Michael's background was diverse. He was a technical tax advisor to the AICPA and its members regarding all aspects of U.S. Tax law including corporate reorganizations, spin-offs, consolidations, partnerships, estates and trusts, etc. He served as president and chief operating officer of a public company that specialized in acquiring companies in turn around situations and reorganizing them. Michael enjoyed a 20 year tenure as the senior tax and merger and acquisition partner at a major regional accounting firm where he devised sophisticated tax planning strategies for the firms clients.
