James N. Baxter
Continuing a varied career spanning corporate and securities law, investment banking and investment strategy, James N. Baxter joined the corporate and international practice of Guzov Ofsink in 2007 and is currently Of Counsel. James has provided counsel to clients involved in public and private finance, M & A, leveraged lease financing, tender offers, licensing and shipbuilding. His clients include US and international companies and institutional investors.
After beginning his career with eight years of securities law practice, primarily at Sullivan & Cromwell, James became a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, where he served as head of the Far East Investment Banking Office in Tokyo, working on transactions in Asia, the US, Europe and the Middle East.
He then headed the Pension Services Group at Salomon Brothers, where he focused on investment policy and strategy, handling multi-billion dollar transactions in bonds, stocks, derivatives real estate and venture capital.
Since 2000 James has returned to full-time law practice.
